Formed in Hollywood, California in 1981, Mötley Crüe is an American heavy metal band featuring bassist Nikki Sixx, drummer Tommy Lee, guitarist Mick Mars, and lead vocalist Vince Neil. With over 100 million records sold worldwide, the band achieved nine Top 10 albums on the Billboard 200 chart, including their only number-one album, Dr. Feelgood. Known for elaborate live performances featuring pyrotechnics and flame thrower guitars, Mötley Crüe helped pioneer glam metal in the 1980s. After reuniting in 2018, the band released new material for the Netflix biopic The Dirt in 2019.
