Man Overboard is an American pop punk band from Mt. Laurel and Williamstown, New Jersey that formed in 2008. Drawing inspiration from influential pop punk acts like Blink-182, Saves the Day, and Taking Back Sunday, as well as 90s emo bands such as The Promise Ring, the group developed a distinctive sound combining upbeat and poppy pop punk with emotional depth. Throughout their career, they have released two EPs, an acoustic EP, a split with Boston pop punk band Transit, a compilation, and four full-length albums. The band became well known within the pop punk scene for their motto to "Defend Pop Punk." Signed to Rise Records, Man Overboard announced a hiatus on January 28, 2016, which lasted until August 2, 2018, when they announced a 10-year anniversary tour to mark their return.
