Marky Ramone

Marc Steven Bell, better known as Marky Ramone, is an American drummer born on July 15, 1952. He began his music career playing in hard rock bands in the New York City area, including Dust and Estus, before joining the punk rock band Richard Hell and the Voidoids. In 1978, Ramone replaced Tommy Ramone as the drummer for the Ramones, becoming the band's longest-serving drummer and performing with them from 1978 to 1983 and again from 1987 to 1996. Throughout his career, he has also played drums for various punk rock and heavy metal bands and founded his own group, Marky Ramone and the Intruders. As of 2026, he remains one of three surviving members of the Ramones, alongside Richie Ramone and C.J. Ramone. He continues to honor the band's legacy through performances with his band Marky Ramone's Blitzkrieg. Ramone resides in Brooklyn Heights with his wife, Marion Flynn, and published his autobiography, Punk Rock Blitzkrieg: My Life as a Ramone, in 2015.
