Martin Adam Friedman is an American guitarist best known for his role as lead guitarist of the thrash metal band Megadeth, a position he held from 1990 to 2000. Prior to this, he collaborated with Jason Becker in the band Cacophony from 1986 until 1989. Beyond his work with established bands, Friedman has released 13 solo albums and toured extensively as a solo artist. Since 2003, Friedman has been based in Tokyo, Japan, where he has become a prominent television personality. He has appeared on over 700 Japanese television programs, including Rock Fujiyama, Hebimeta-san, Kōhaku Uta Gassen, and Jukebox English. Throughout his career, he has worked with numerous record labels, including Avex Trax, Universal, EMI, Prosthetic, and Shrapnel Records, releasing music across multiple formats and genres.
