Matthew Jonathan Gordon Maltese is a British-Canadian singer-songwriter and record producer born on 6 October 1995. His musical style blends elements from indie pop, indie rock, and chamber pop, creating a distinctive sound that draws from multiple genres. Maltese began his professional music career in 2015 with the release of his debut single "Even If It's a Lie." Since that initial release, he has built an extensive discography that includes five studio albums, a cover album, and several EPs. His third studio album, Good Morning It's Now Tomorrow, arrived in October 2021 through the Nettwerk label. In April 2023, Maltese released his fourth studio album, titled Driving Just to Drive, continuing his prolific output as both a recording artist and producer.
