Formed in Seattle in 2001, Minus the Bear is an American indie rock band known for sophisticated compositions blending guitar-taps, electronics, and complex time signatures. The group comprised Jake Snider, Dave Knudson, Cory Murchy, and Alex Rose. Over their initial run, they released six albums and four EPs before announcing their retirement in 2018, with their final performance occurring that December. In 2025, the band reunited to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their album Menos el Oso with an anniversary tour.
