Morpheus Descends is a death metal band that formed in Middletown, New York in 1990, originally operating under the name Morpheus. The group has experienced significant lineup changes throughout their existence, though founding members Rob Yench and Sam Inzerra have remained as the core of the band. After initially disbanding in 1998 due to waning interest in the project, the band reunited in 2013 and resumed performing live shows. The band is recognized as an important contributor to the development of the New York death metal scene.
