This character originates from the science fiction television series Star Trek: Voyager, where he has appeared since the show's beginning. Portrayed by actor Ethan Phillips, the character is an alien native to the far side of the galaxy. He joins the crew of the United Federation of Planets starship USS Voyager after the vessel is captured and transported to the Delta Quadrant by a mysterious shockwave. Throughout his time aboard the ship, he takes on multiple roles including serving as a cook, morale officer, and eventually as an ambassador for the crew.
