Stylized as ninedays, this American rock band hails from Long Island, New York. The group was formed in 1994 in the hamlet of St. James, Suffolk County, by John Hampson and Brian Desveaux. Throughout the 1990s, ninedays released three independent albums before making their mainstream debut with The Madding Crowd in 2000. The album brought the band significant success in the United States, largely due to their hit single "Absolutely (Story of a Girl)," which became their breakthrough moment on the commercial music scene.
