Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, On Broken Wings is an American metalcore band that formed in 2001. The group is often credited with pioneering and coining the term "moshcore," which describes their distinctive fusion of metal with elements of post-hardcore and hardcore breakdowns. AllMusic has characterized their style as post-emo metalcore with elements of grindcore. The band initially self-released the Number One Beautiful EP, which led to their discovery by Eulogy Recordings. Over the next five years, they released two albums through the label: Some of Us May Never See the World in 2003 and It's All a Long Goodbye in 2005. In early 2007, On Broken Wings released the EP Going Down, which featured both the original Number One Beautiful EP and four new songs.
