Orianthi Penny Panagaris, known mononymously as Orianthi, is an Australian guitarist, singer and songwriter. She gained prominence as a touring guitarist for several well-known musical acts, most notably serving as a guitarist for Michael Jackson's cancelled This Is It concert residency. Her 2009 debut single "According to You" achieved significant chart success, peaking at number 3 in Japan, number 8 in Australia, and number 17 in the United States. That same year, her second album Believe received a worldwide release in late 2009. Orianthi's musical talents have been recognized by industry publications, as she was named one of the "12 Greatest Female Electric Guitarists" by Elle magazine in 2009. She also received the "2010 Breakthrough Guitarist of the Year" award from Guitar International magazine, further cementing her reputation as an accomplished musician.
