Roberto Agustín Miguel Santiago Samuel Trujillo Veracruz is an American musician best known as the bassist for heavy metal band Metallica, a position he has held since 2003. Born on October 23, 1964, Trujillo first gained prominence in the late 1980s as the bassist of crossover thrash band Suicidal Tendencies, where he performed from 1989 to 1995. During his time with Suicidal Tendencies, he also collaborated with the band's frontman Mike Muir in the funk metal supergroup Infectious Grooves. After departing Suicidal Tendencies, Trujillo worked with several notable artists including Ozzy Osbourne and Jerry Cantrell, as well as the heavy metal band Black Label Society. His tenure with Metallica has made him the band's longest-serving bassist. In 2009, Trujillo was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Metallica, cementing his legacy in heavy metal history.
