Formed on Long Island, New York in 2020, Pain of Truth is an American hardcore punk band that emerged from frontman Michael Smith's songwriting during the COVID-19 lockdowns following his previous band Hangman's disbandment. The band features Chris Rini on drums, Nik Hansen and Ridge Rhine on guitars, and Zach Stachura on bass. Known for their extensive use of guest features from notable hardcore musicians including Freddy Cricien, Scott Vogel, and Justice Tripp, they have released one demo, two split EPs, and their debut album Not Through Blood in September 2023.
