Pale Waves is an English rock band from Manchester, formed in 2014. The band was founded by lead singer and guitarist Heather Baron-Gracie and drummer Ciara Doran, who met while attending university in Manchester. Guitarist Hugo Silvani and bassist Charlie Wood later joined to complete the lineup. The band's early work is characterized as 80s-inspired indie rock or synth-pop, though their later albums shifted toward the pop-punk genre. After signing with record label Dirty Hit in 2017, Pale Waves released their debut single "There's a Honey," followed by "Television Romance." The band gained recognition in 2018 when they were ranked fifth in the BBC Sound of 2018 poll and won the NME Under the Radar Award at the NME Awards. Their debut EP, All the Things I Never Said, came out in February 2018, followed by their studio albums My Mind Makes Noises in 2018, Who Am I? in 2021, Unwanted in 2022, and Smitten in 2024.
