Josh Rand is an American musician best known as the rhythm guitarist of the band Stone Sour. Born on August 19, 1974, Rand began his musical journey at age 9 playing bass guitar, inspired by influential bassists including Billy Sheehan, Cliff Burton, Frankie Bello, and Jason Newsted. At age 15, he met Corey Taylor, and the two played together in several bands before Rand made the switch to guitar at age 17. After hearing the band Racer X, Rand realized that playing guitar was the right path for him. He earned a professional certificate in guitar from Berklee College of Music and is currently pursuing a master's degree in guitar at the same institution.
