Formed in San Diego, California in 2006, Pierce the Veil is an American rock band founded by brothers Vic and Mike Fuentes following the disbanding of Before Today. The band's lineup was completed in 2007 when Jaime Preciado joined on bass and Tony Perry took on lead guitar duties. Since their debut album A Flair for the Dramatic in 2007, the band has released five studio albums and toured extensively across the globe. Their second album, Selfish Machines, came out in 2010, followed by Collide with the Sky in 2012, which marked their first release under Fearless Records and featured the hit single "King for a Day," debuting at No. 12 on the US Billboard 200. The band released their fourth album, Misadventures, on May 13, 2016, and after taking a hiatus, returned with their fifth album, The Jaws of Life, on February 10, 2023.
