Formed in North Muskegon, Michigan, in 2001, Pop Evil is an American rock band created by Leigh Kakaty. The band's musical foundation traces back to TenFive, an earlier group that Kakaty formed with guitarist Jason Reed in the late 1990s. Throughout their career, Pop Evil has achieved significant commercial success on the charts, with multiple songs reaching the top of the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. Among their most notable hits are "Trenches" and "Waking Lions," both of which demonstrated the band's ability to connect with rock audiences and secure prominent chart positions.
