Formed in Memphis, Tennessee in 1997, Primer 55 is an American nu metal band. The band's name combines "Primer," meaning something unfinished, with "55," a reference to Interstate 55, known as the route drugs traveled to Chicago through Memphis. The group released two studio albums: Introduction to Mayhem in 2000 and The New Release in 2001. After disbanding in 2003, they reunited from 2007 to 2015 and announced another reunion in June 2025.
