In television entertainment, Profiler was an NBC drama series centered around a criminologist who specialized in profiling. In scientific and technical contexts, a profiler can refer to a surface analysis instrument also known as a profilometer, or it may describe a fungicide product containing fosetyl-Al and fluopicolide. In the field of computer programming, profiling refers to a specialized tool designed to track and analyze the performance of computer programs. In criminology, profiling, also called offender profiling or criminal profiling, is work conducted by criminologists who study the behavior patterns of criminals to identify psychological clues that assist in their capture. Additionally, a wind profiler is an instrument specifically engineered to measure wind speed and direction at various elevations above the ground.
