Formed in Hobart, Tasmania in 1999, Psycroptic is an Australian technical death metal band led by mainstay members drummer Dave Haley and guitarist Joe Haley. The band's lineup was completed in 2004 with the addition of lead vocalist Jason Peppiatt. In 2008, Psycroptic signed to Nuclear Blast Records, marking a significant milestone in their career. As of August 2022, the band has released eight studio albums. Throughout their history, Psycroptic has undertaken numerous Australian national tours supporting international acts including Incantation, Decapitated, Origin, and Misery Index. They have also toured Europe alongside established acts such as Nile and Deicide. In February 2019, the band embarked on a co-headlining European tour with Aversions Crown, featuring support from Within Destruction, Hadal Maw, and Hollow World. That same year, Psycroptic headlined a United States tour in support of their album As the Kingdom Drowns.
