RATT was an American glam metal band that achieved significant commercial success throughout the 1980s, with their albums earning gold, platinum, and multi-platinum certifications from the RIAA. The band became best known for hit singles including "Round and Around," which reached number 12 on Billboard's top 40, and "Lay It Down," which peaked at number 40. Other notable tracks from their catalog include "Wanted Man," "You're in Love," and "Dance." Alongside bands such as Mötley Crüe, RATT played an instrumental role in shaping the early 1980s Los Angeles glam metal scene, commonly referred to as "hair metal" or "pop metal." Following the 1980s, the band's activity became sporadic, with touring and recording continuing from the 1990s through 2021, marked by extended breaks and several lineup changes. Their final studio album, Infestation, was released in April 2010. In 2020, music critic Jeff Mezydlo of Yardbarker recognized RATT among the 20 greatest hair metal bands of all time.
