Samurai Pizza Cats

About

There are two notable artists who share the name Samurai Pizza Cats. The first is a ska and party band that originated in Oneonta, New York. Beginning as a seven-piece group in 2010, they practiced in a cramped two-bedroom apartment before expanding to nine members and eventually settling as a six-piece band based in Long Island, NY. Known for their energetic and humorous performances, they released their debut album "Cheers," which is widely available. The second Samurai Pizza Cats was founded in 2021 by Daniel Haniß from Electric Callboy, along with Sebastian Fischer and Stefan Buchwald, both formerly of Fall Of Gaia. Stefan Reufer later joined as the fourth member. The band's name references an anime series from the 1990s. They describe their music as "Catcore from Castrop," a fusion of metalcore, deathcore, and electronic elements. For their initial singles, the band collaborated with notable feature guests including members of Future Palace and For I Am King.
