Timothy Ross Armstrong is an American musician, songwriter, and record producer known for his distinctive voice. He is the singer and guitarist for the punk rock band Rancid and the hip hop/punk rock supergroup Transplants. Before forming Rancid, Armstrong performed in the ska punk band Operation Ivy. In 1997, he co-founded Hellcat Records alongside Brett Gurewitz of Bad Religion, who also owns Epitaph Records. Armstrong has worked extensively as a songwriter for other artists and has collaborated with notable musicians including Jimmy Cliff, Pink, Joe Walsh, and the Interrupters. He won a Grammy Award for his work with Jimmy Cliff and Pink. In 2012, Armstrong began releasing music through his website under the name Tim Timebomb, featuring songs that influenced him along with stripped-down cover versions of his own compositions.
