Shed Seven

Formed in York in 1990, Shed Seven are an English alternative rock band. The group originally featured singer Rick Witter, guitarist and keyboardist Joe Johnson, bassist Tom Gladwin, and drummer Alan Leach. Joe Johnson was later replaced by Paul Banks, though subsequent line-ups included both musicians. Throughout their career, the band achieved 15 top 40 singles and five top 40 albums in the UK. After officially breaking up in 2003, Shed Seven reformed for a greatest-hits tour in July 2007. The band continued performing shows throughout Britain periodically before releasing a new studio album in 2017 titled Instant Pleasures. Their 2024 album A Matter of Time, released on January 5th, marked a significant milestone as their first number one album. Later that year, they released Liquid Gold on September 27th, which also debuted at number one on the official UK Albums Chart, giving the band a second chart-topping album within the same year.
