Skinlab

Formed in 1994 in San Francisco, California, Skinlab is an American heavy metal band. The group was established by vocalist and bassist Steev Esquivel, who had previously performed with Bay Area thrash metal band Defiance and would later rejoin that ensemble. Guitarist Mike Roberts, who currently plays with San Francisco Bay Area band RAZE the STRAY, joined as a founding member alongside guitarist Gary Wendt. Wendt brought experience from his time with Bay Area thrash band Sacrilege B.C. and has since gone on to front The Ghost Next Door. Drummer Paul Hopkins completed the original lineup. The band emerged from the San Francisco Bay Area heavy metal scene during a significant period for the region's metal music.
