Formed in 1985 in Macomb, Illinois, Stabbing Westward is an American industrial rock band founded by Christopher Hall and Walter Flakus. The band gained prominence with an extended play released in 1992, followed by four studio albums throughout the 1990s and early 2000s: Ungod in 1994, Wither Blister Burn & Peel in 1996, Darkest Days in 1998, and their self-titled album in 2001. The band announced its dissolution in February 2002, with two compilation albums released the following year. After more than a decade of inactivity, Stabbing Westward reunited in 2016 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of their formation and resumed performing live shows. Following their reunion, the band released Chasing Ghosts in 2022, marking their first new studio album in 21 years and signaling their continued presence in the industrial rock landscape.
