Formed in 1983 as Roxx Regime before adopting their current name, Stryper is an American Christian metal band that became the first overtly Christian heavy metal band to gain mainstream acceptance. The band's current lineup includes Michael Sweet on lead vocals and guitar, Oz Fox on guitar and backing vocals, Perry Richardson on bass and backing vocals, and Robert Sweet on drums. After signing with Enigma Records in 1983 and releasing their debut album The Yellow and Black Attack, Stryper achieved their greatest commercial success in the mid-1980s with the platinum-selling album To Hell with the Devil, followed by two additional gold albums before disbanding in 1993. The band reunited in 2003 for a tour and signed a multi-album contract with Big3 Records in 2005. Since signing with Frontiers Records in 2013, they have released Second Coming, No More Hell to Pay, Fallen, God Damn Evil, Even the Devil Believes, The Final Battle, and When We Were Kings in 2024.
