Styx

In Greek mythology, Styx is a goddess and one of the rivers of the Greek Underworld. Her name, derived from Ancient Greek, literally means "Shuddering." According to mythological accounts, her parents were the Titans Oceanus and Tethys. She was the wife of the Titan Pallas and mother to four children: Zelus, Nike, Kratos, and Bia. During the war between the Olympians and Titans, Styx sided with Zeus, demonstrating her allegiance to the younger gods. In recognition of her loyalty and support during this conflict, Zeus honored her by decreeing that all solemn oaths sworn by the gods would be made by the water of Styx, elevating her to a position of sacred importance in the divine realm.
