About
Suffocate Faster was a heavy metal band formed in fall 2001 by guitarist Chris Towning and drummer Joey Ray in Cincinnati, Ohio. Driven by straight edge principles and influenced by bands like Hatebreed and Earth Crisis, the group aimed to create aggressive music that stood apart from mainstream radio trends. The complete lineup solidified with vocalist Chris and bassist Josh before the band released their debut full-length album, "Only Time Will Tell," in April 2004 through Broken Sounds. The album's reception launched an extensive touring career beginning in May 2004, during which Suffocate Faster shared stages with numerous notable acts including Hatebreed, Bleeding Through, Atreyu, Unearth, and Between the Buried and Me. The band also performed at the 2004 Vans Warped Tour on the Kevin Lyman Says Stage. In 2006, Suffocate Faster signed to 1981 Records and released their second full-length album, "Don't Kill The Messenger," in September. The band parted ways in September 2007.
