Formed in 2012 in Reno, Nevada, Surf Curse is an American indie surf rock band that has since relocated to Los Angeles. The group was originally created by Nick Rattigan, who handles lead vocals and drums, and Jacob Rubeck, who plays guitars. The band's current lineup also features Henry Dillon and Noah Kholl. Surf Curse achieved mainstream success when their song "Freaks," which was written in 2011 and released in 2013, gained significant popularity on the short-form video platform TikTok in 2020.
