Taake

Taake is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1993 under the original name Thule. Hoest serves as the band's sole continuous member and is responsible for writing and recording most of the music. The band has released eight full-length albums and several EPs throughout their career. Taake describes itself as "True Norwegian black metal" and aims to awaken national pride and cultural nostalgia among Norwegian listeners while conveying darker themes about human nature and suffering. All of the band's lyrics are written in Hoest's native dialect and are presented in Norse runes. The band's name comes from the old spelling of the Norwegian word tåke, which means fog.
