From Montclair, New Jersey, Thank You Scientist is an American progressive rock band known for their ambitious sound and intricate compositions. The group began their recording career with the EP The Perils of Time Travel in 2011, establishing themselves as a notable act within the progressive rock genre. Their debut studio album, Maps of Non-Existent Places, arrived in 2014 and earned significant recognition, being named Revolver Album of the Week in October of that year. The band continued building their discography with their second album, Stranger Heads Prevail, which was released in July 2016. Three years later, they unveiled their third album, Terraformer, in June 2019. Most recently, Thank You Scientist released their second EP, Plague Accommodations, in 2021, demonstrating their continued creative output and commitment to evolving their musical style.
