Formed in Chicago in 2003, The Academy Is... is an American rock band originally known as "The Academy" before adding "Is..." in 2004. Signed to Decaydance under Fueled by Ramen, they released four studio albums and four EPs before disbanding in 2011. The band briefly reunited in 2015 for a farewell show at Riot Fest, and announced a full reunion in May 2022. They released their first album in 18 years, Almost There, in March 2026.
