An Australian post-hardcore band originally from Gympie, Queensland, The Amity Affliction formed in 2003. The current lineup features Joel Birch on lead vocals, Dan Brown on guitar, Jonathan Reeves on bass and vocals, and Joe Longobardi on drums. Known for their highly personal and introspective songwriting, the band explores themes including depression, anxiety, death, substance abuse, and suicide, with many lyrics drawn from vocalist Joel Birch's personal experiences. They have released eight studio albums to date, with a ninth album planned for 2026.
