The Armed

The Armed is an American hardcore punk collective formed in Detroit, Michigan in 2009. The group's membership remains largely mysterious, though advertising creative Tony Wolski has represented them publicly. The project frequently collaborates with guest musicians including Chris Pennie, Nick Yacyshyn, and Ben Koller, while Converge guitarist Kurt Ballou has been involved in recording and producing most of their releases. Their sound spans hardcore punk, metalcore, post-hardcore, and experimental hardcore. Known for comedic self-mythologizing and cult-like presentation, the collective has adopted the mantra "refract" as a defining element.
