A London-based band, The Comet Is Coming blended jazz, electronica, funk and psychedelic rock into a distinctive sound. The group initially recorded for The Leaf Label, releasing their debut EP Prophecy on limited edition 12" vinyl on November 13, 2015. Their full-length album Channel the Spirits followed on April 1, 2016, earning a nomination for the 2016 Mercury Prize. The band's growing acclaim led to a recording contract with Impulse! in 2018.
