Hailing from Hamar, Norway, The Kovenant is an industrial metal band with a distinctive evolution. Originally forming in 1993 under the name Covenant, the group initially performed symphonic black metal. In 1999, following a legal dispute with a Swedish band sharing the same name, they were forced to rebrand as The Kovenant. This pivotal change marked a significant transformation in their musical direction. From that point forward, the band shifted their focus toward a cyber and industrial metal sound, drawing heavy influence from Europe's EBM scene. Despite this stylistic departure, The Kovenant later reissued their early symphonic black metal albums under their new name, preserving their complete discography for both longtime fans and new listeners.
