Originating in Oakland, California, Tower of Power is an American R&B and funk band and horn section that has been performing since 1968. The group has featured numerous lead vocalists throughout their career, with Lenny Williams being the most well-known. Williams fronted the band from early 1973 to late 1974, a period that marked their greatest commercial success. Tower of Power has achieved significant chart recognition, with eight songs reaching the Billboard Hot 100. Among their highest-charting hits are "You're Still a Young Man," "So Very Hard to Go," "What Is Hip?," and "Don't Change Horses (in the Middle of a Stream)."
