Mark Thomas Tremonti is an American guitarist and singer born on April 18, 1974. He is best known for his work with hard rock bands Creed and Alter Bridge, serving as a founding member of both groups. Beyond these major collaborations, Tremonti has worked with numerous other artists throughout his career. In 2011, Tremonti formed his own band and has since released six albums. One of his notable projects is A Dying Machine, which he adapted in collaboration with science fiction novelist John Shirley. Throughout his career, Tremonti has earned significant recognition for his guitar playing and songwriting abilities. He won a Grammy Award for Creed's single "With Arms Wide Open" and received the title of "Guitarist of the Year" from Guitar World for three consecutive years. In 2011, Total Guitar magazine ranked him as the fourth-greatest heavy metal guitarist of all time.
