About

Trenches is a name used by at least three distinct bands across different regions and musical genres. The most prominent is an ambient hardcore band from Nashville, Tennessee and Indianapolis, Indiana, led by former Haste the Day vocalist Jimmy Ryan. Their musical style combines relaxing and energizing elements. The band's lineup includes Jimmy Ryan on vocals, Joel Lauver on vocals and guitar, Phil Hook on drums, Bill Scott on bass, and Eli Larch Chastain on guitars. They released their album "The Tide Will Swallow Us Whole" in September 2008. Additionally, Trenches is the name of a doom, sludge, and post-metal band based in Galway, Ireland, with an active presence on Bandcamp. A third band also uses the Trenches name, operating as a hardcore band from Oakland, California, featuring Boo Boo on vocals, Juliana on guitar, Laura on bass, and Ryan on drums, with their music available on Bandcamp.
