True North

About

True North is a name shared by multiple artists across different genres and regions. One notable act is a screamo band from Gainesville, Florida, formed by ex-members of Strikeforce Diablo, Twelve Hour Turn, and Palatka. The group released two full-length albums in the early 2000s on the No Idea record label, titled "We Speak in Code" and "Somewhat Similar." In addition to their LP releases, they put out a 12-inch vinyl called "Put Your Nightlife Where Your Mouth Is" and collaborated on splits with Reactionary 3 and The Red Scare. Another artist bearing this name is a Sydney-based electronic project that incorporates Indigenous music elements. Additionally, there is a post-hardcore band from Los Angeles, California, also known as True North. The name encompasses these distinct musical projects across different continents and styles.
