This English rock musician is best known as the drummer for The Who. His only solo studio album, titled Two Sides of the Moon, was released and peaked at number 155 on the Billboard 200 chart. The album title was credited to Ringo Starr. Rather than using the project to highlight his drumming abilities, he took the lead vocal role on all tracks. He played drums on only three songs: "Crazy Like a Fox," "The Kids Are Alright," and "Move Over Ms. L," though he also contributed percussion to "Don't Worry Baby." The album featured an impressive array of guest musicians and contributors, including Ringo Starr, Harry Nilsson, Joe Walsh of the Eagles, Jim Keltner, Bobby Keys, Klaus Voormann, John Sebastian, Flo & Eddie from the Turtles, Spencer Davis, Dick Dale, Patti Quatro, and members of Fanny including Jean Millington, Cam Davis, and Nickey Barclay, as well as future actor Miguel Ferrer. This unique project showcased his versatility as a performer beyond his primary role as a drummer.
