Formed in 2005, Upon a Burning Body is an American metalcore band from San Antonio, Texas. The group currently consists of vocalist Danny Leal, guitarist Ruben Alvarez, and bassist Thomas Alvarez. They released their debut album The World Is Ours in 2010, establishing themselves in the metalcore scene. Their second studio album, Red. White. Green., followed in 2012 and debuted at No. 105 on the Billboard 200. The band achieved greater commercial success with their third studio album, The World Is My Enemy Now, released in August 2014, which debuted at No. 39 on the Billboard 200. That same year, Upon a Burning Body joined Five Finger Death Punch as a support act on their tour. In 2016, the band released their fourth studio album, Straight from the Barrio, on October 28. As of 2023, the band operates as an independent entity.
