Vicious Rumors is an American power metal band that was originally formed in 1979 in the San Francisco Bay Area. The band was conceived by founder and guitarist/vocalist Geoff Thorpe, who has been instrumental in shaping the group's direction and sound. Since their full-length recording debut in 1985, Vicious Rumors has been actively recording and touring worldwide, establishing themselves as a notable presence in the power metal genre. The band is currently signed to SPV/Steamhammer, a Germany-based record label.
