Vincent Neil Wharton, born February 8, 1961, is an American musician and singer best known as the lead vocalist of heavy metal band Mötley Crüe. He fronted the band from their formation in 1981 until his departure in 1992, then reunited with them in 1996 and continued performing until the band's 2015 retirement. The band reunited again in 2018, with Neil resuming his role as frontman. Beyond his work with Mötley Crüe, Neil has pursued a solo career, releasing three studio albums. His most recent solo release, Tattoos & Tequila, came out in 2010. Neil's visual aesthetic and distinctive singing voice became iconic during the American glam metal movement of the 1980s, cementing his status as a defining figure in that musical era.
