Violent Magic Orchestra, also known as VMO, is a Japanese music project that brings together four distinct musical talents. The ensemble features Pete Swanson on electronics, a former member of Yellow Swans, alongside Mondkopf (also known as Extreme Precautions) who handles mixing, synthesizer, and beats. Vampillia contributes instruments and vocals to the project, while Kezzardrix serves as VJ. The group defines their sound as a complete harmony of black metal, noise, industrial, and techno, creating a unique fusion that has been described as "black metal meets Kraftwerk" and "Aphex Twin invaded by Burzum." VMO is notably recognized for the substantial amount of electricity required to power their live performances, using approximately 4500W in total during shows.
