About
Voxx International Corporation was an American consumer electronics company that originated as Audiovox Corporation in 1960 and underwent a name change to Voxx in 2012. Based in Orlando, Florida, the company operated across four specialized sectors: OEM and after-market automotive electronics, consumer electronics accessories, and consumer and commercial audio equipment. Throughout its history, Voxx International strategically acquired numerous established brand names from companies that could no longer operate independently as specialty retailers. These acquisitions included Acoustic Research, Advent, Code Alarm, Invision, Jensen, Klipsch, Prestige, RCA, 808 Audio, and Terk. The company also maintained a portfolio of international brands such as Audiovox, Hirschmann, Heco, Incaar, Oehlbach, Mac Audio, Magnat, and Schwaiger. Additionally, Voxx International held a license to market products under the Energizer brand. The company was purchased by Gentex in April 2025.
