Vreid is a Norwegian black metal band that was established in 2004. The group formed following the dissolution of Windir, which occurred after the death of the band's lead singer and founder Valfar. The remaining members of Windir joined together with new guitarist Ese to create Vreid. The band's name is derived from an archaic Norwegian word that translates to "Wrath."
