Wand

A wand is a thin, light-weight rod that is held with one hand. Traditionally made of wood, wands may also be constructed from other materials, including metal, bone, or stone. Longer versions are often styled as staves or sceptres, which can feature large ornamentation on the top. In modern times, wands are usually associated with stage magic or supernatural magic, though they have served various other purposes throughout history. All of these uses stem from the original meaning of a wand as a synonym of rod and virge. One of the earliest and simplest tools, a wand functions as a stick that is used for reaching, pointing, drawing in the dirt, and directing other people.
