Formed in Halden, Norway in 2001, Wig Wam is a glam metal band that has maintained the same lineup throughout their existence. Vocalist Glam, guitarist Teeny, bassist Flash, and drummer Sporty have been together since the band's inception. The group's distinctive style blends glam metal and hard rock with humorous lyrics and imagery, operating under their motto "Rock is the new schlager." The band achieved international recognition in 2005 when they represented Norway at the Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv, finishing ninth with the song "In My Dreams." After disbanding in 2014, Wig Wam reunited in 2019 and experienced a significant resurgence in 2022 when director James Gunn selected their song "Do Ya Wanna Taste It" as the opening theme for the first season of HBO Max's Peacemaker series, while also featuring "In My Dreams" on the show's soundtrack. As of 2023, the band has released six studio albums.
